Hawa Mahal (palace of breeze) is located in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Built in 1799 CE by Sawai Pratap Singh as an extension to the City Palace of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal has 953 Jharokhas (windows) on the outside walls.
The façade consists of small lattice worked pink windows, balconies and arched roofs with hanging cornices. The honeycomb shaped, beautifully carved windows allow breeze to blow through the palace!
