Chimi Lhakhang, also known as temple of fertility, is a Buddhist Monastery located 14 km south of Punakha, Bhutan.
Built in 1499 CE by the Drukpa Kagyu lama Ngawang Chogyal, it stands on a round hillock blessed by the divine madman Drukpa Kunley.
From the village known as Sopsokha, a 20 minutes’ walk along a muddy path leads us to a hillock where the Monastery and the chorten are situated.
The local people also bring their new-borns to be named here.
