Jaigarh Fort, Jaipur, Rajasthan, is located 15 km north-east of Jaipur.
Jaigarh fort, built by Raja Jai Singh in 1726 CE, overlooks the Amer Fort and the Maota Lake.
The fort designed and executed by architect Vidhyadhar features thick fort walls, water management facilities, palaces, residential quarters, beautiful lattice windows, ammunition storage facilities, gardens, terraces, balconies and view points.
Jaivana Cannon, weighing massive 50 Tonnes, manufactured and installed here was then the world’s largest cannon on wheels.
Jaigarh Fort and Amer Fort are connected by subterranean passages and over the ground pathways.
The fort, built atop the hill of eagles (Cheel ka Teela), provides an excellent view of the Aravalli Range.
