Vallimalai Jain Cave is located 27 km north-east of Vellore, Tamilnadu.
The Cave is located on the alternate step-way leading to the Muruga Temple on top of the hill.
The natural caverns were inhabited by Jain monks from Bihar during the late-maurya period. Caves were further developed during Satavahana rule (3rd Century CE). Most of the carvings are dated to Ganga King Rachamalla II period around 870 CE.
Muruga temple and Thirupugazh ashram are located in the Vallimalai hill.
