Vallimalai Murugan Temple is located 27 km north-east of Vellore, Tamilnadu. There are two temples here – one at the foothill, and one on top of the hill.
Well-formed steps (444 steps) takes us to the cave temple on top. Pallava kings said to have built the temple structure that we see today.
Valli was born in Valli Malai and brought up by king Nambi Raja. Valli and Muruga are said to have got married here.
Many Sidhars have lived in Valli Malai. Thirupugazh ashram and Jain caves are located in Valli Malai hill.
