The Jantar Mantar, Jaipur, Rajasthan, is located behind Hawa Mahal.
Established in the year 1734 CE Sawai Jai Singh II, it contains a collection of 19 astronomical instruments, by and large in good shape.
Among many instruments meant to measure celestial bodies and their movements, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and features the world’s largest stone sundial.
The Vrihat Samrat Yantra in the complex is 88 feet (27 m) high, with its face angled at 27 degrees (the latitude of Jaipur), that measures time in intervals of 2 seconds!
