Great Buddha Dordenma, Thimphu, is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue on top of a hill, overlooking Thimphu city, Bhutan.
Built in 2015, the 169 feet tall Budha statue houses 1,25,000 smaller Buddha statues, each of which, like the Great Buddha Dordenma itself, are made of bronze and gilded in gold.
The hill overlooking the southern approach to Thimphu offers panoramic views of the city, the hills and mountains around, and the snow-capped peaks of far north.
