Haragadde

Channakeshavaswamy Temple at Haragadde is located 30 km south of Bangalore. It’s an ancient temple said to have been established by Arjuna during Mahabharata period.

The current structure is built in 15th century CE by Vijayanagara kings. The Mantapa is adorned by pillars with carvings from Puranas.

Haragadde village is referred to as Khagapuri (town of cranes) in the Puranas.

There’s a Mahalakshmi temple adjacent to this temple.
