Arakere

Arakere Channakesava temple is located 57 km north of Hassan, Karnataka.

Built in 13th century CE by Hoysala kings, this temple is distinct with its shikhara in Kadamba style, and sculptures in the outer walls of Garbhagriha.

Being a trikutachala temple, it has three garbhagrihas opening into a common mukhamandapa adorned by lathe-turned pillars and ornamented Navaranga.

An amazing creation in a perfect rural setting!
