Hullekere

Chennakeshava temple, Hullekere, Karnataka – is located 40 km north-east of Hassan.

This amazing temple was built in 1163 CE during the reign of Hoysala king Narasimha I.

Replete with a well-crafted mukhamantapa (porch) with ornamented parapet, the temple has elaborately carved Mahamantapa, Sukhanasi and Ekakuta Vimana (tower).

The Navaranga ceilings and lathe turned pillars are magnificent!
