Vaduvoor Bird Sanctuary is located 24 km south-east of Thanjavur, Tamilnadu.
The 128 hectare sanctuary around Vaduvoor lake attracts migratory birds from Europe and Americas – the wetlands in the region provides suitable environment for their food, shelter and reproduction.
More than 40 species of water birds frequent this sanctuary, mainly during winter months, such as Ibis, Painted stork, Grey Pelican.
