Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple at Melukote is located 55 km north of Mysore and 137 km south-west of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Perched on a hillock accessible through 300+ steps, this ancient temple is said to have been consecrated by Prahlada.
The current structure was built / renovated by Vijayanagara kings and Wodeyars of Mysore during 15th / 16th century CE.
The temple is considered to be amongst the seven important centres for worship of lord Narasimha.
