Murudeshwara Temple is located in Murudeshwar, Karnataka, on the Arabian sea coast.
The temple is built on the Kanduka Hill. Dedicated to Shiva, the temple has a Gopura that’s 240 feet tall, built in 2008. One can go up on the 20-floor Gopura using the elevators. The views from the top are breath-taking!
The temple is ancient one, from Treta yuga. The piece of cloth covering the Atma-Linga of Gokarna is said to have fallen here on the Kanduka-Giri (Kanduka Hill).
The Shiva statue in the temple complex is one of the largest at 123 feet height.
Murudeshwar has a beautiful beach.
