Avalabetta hill, located 88 km north of Bangalore, is just a day-drive away from Bangalore.
Also called Dhenugiri, the legend has it that Kamadhenu, the sacred cow, had grazed here. Avalu in local language means cow / cattle.
The hill top has a few view-points that provide lovely views of surrounding landscapes dotted with ponds, lakes, hillocks, forests and beautiful country side.
The hill houses Lakshmi Narasimha temple and Forest Department Guest house.
