Athirappilly falls is one of the famous waterfalls of Kerala. It’s situated in Thrissur district on the Chalakudy river that originates from the upper reaches of Western Ghats. It’s around 30 kms east from Chalakudy, could also be accessed from Valparai on the Tamil Nadu side (~ 76 Kms).
This 80 feet high all-weather falls is surrounded by dense forests, picturesque hills, jungle foliage and vegetation.
One could view the falls from the upper deck. One could also get down to the bottom of the falls safely through a walking trail. Both the views are enchanting!
One could drive up-stream ~3 Kms to Charpa falls (a seasonal one) and 5 kms to Vazhachal falls (on the Chalakudy river).
