Aryankavu, Kerala, located 35 km east of Punalur and 24 km west of Thenkasi, is famous for its Shastha temple.
One of the five ancient Shastha temples, the deity here is said to have been consecrated by sage Parashurama.
Shastha is said to have married Shri Pushkaladevi of Sourashtra community in Aryankavu – the wedding festival is celebrated every year.
Aryankavu is picturesque, surrounded by the forests of western ghats.
