Watkins Glen is located 81 miles South-East of Rochester, New York, USA.
The 2 mile George trail takes us through 19 waterfalls, offering a magnificent experience with the path winding over, under, and even behind some of them. Within two miles, the Glen’s stream descends 400 feet through cliffs, rock faces and ridges, generating the waterfalls along its course. The formation is said to be 400 million years old!
There are multiple trails that one could take; George trail takes us through the stream, waterfalls, bridges and water sculpted rocks. We can walk behind a couple of falls – Cavern cascade and Rainbow falls.
One could access the trail from the lower (main) entrance or from the upper entrance.
Drive from Rochester through the western shores of Seneca lake (finger lake region) is stunning!
