Hukka Falls, North Island, New Zealand, is located 6 km north of Taupo, 77 km south of Rotorua.
Waikato river (flowing through Taupo lake) that’s ~100 meters wide just before the falls, forces itself through a natural volcanic rock gorge that’s just 15 meters wide, crashing in to a turbulent pool 11 meters below.
An enormous volume of water flows through, reaching to more than 200,000 litres per second!
Waters roar and rumble at great force as it speeds along the ravine. A foot bridge across the falls gives us a closer view.
Hukka falls – nature’s wonder!
