1000 pillar temple located in Warangal, Telengana is a Kakatiya era temple, built in 1163 CE by Rudra Deva.
Built in later Chalukyan early Kakatiyan architecture on the star shaped platform, this Trikuta temple is dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu and Surya.
A masterpiece of architecture, the temple is replete with richly carved pillars, perforated screens, exquisite carvings, lathe-cut pillars and sculptures.
Managed by the Archaeological Survey of India, the temple provides a glimpse into the artistic finesse of the bygone era.
