Ratneshwar Mahadev Mandir, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, is located north of Manikarnika Ghat, on river Ganga.
The temple has a noticeable 9 degree tilt, much more than the 4 degree tilt that the tower of Pisa has. Constructed at a low level, the Garbhagriha and most parts of the shikhara (tower) remain below water for most of the year.
The tilt is said to have happened after 1860s. It’s a wonder that the temple still stands firm.
