Thenmala Dam is located 21 km south-east of Punalur, Kerala.
Also known as Kallada Dam, it’s one of the largest irrigation projects in Kerala, built on Kallada river.
The dam is located amidst picturesque location with scenic surroundings at the foothills of the Western Ghats.
Bordered by Shendurney Wildlife Sanctuary, Thenmala Dam impounds the longest reservoir in Kerala.
The look-out at Ottakkal provides a beautiful view of the Kallada river, downstream.
