Sadashiva temple at Nuggehalli, Karnataka, is located 20 km north-east of Channarayapatna.
The temple was built in 1249 CE during the rule of King Vira Someshwara. This unusual Hoysala temple combines ekakuta structure with a nagara styled Shikhara (tower).
The outer walls and the mantapa have austere appearance with no sculptural decoration. Yet the symmetry in carvings and ornamentation is a striking feature here!
2 richly carved pillars at the entrance to Mahamantapa is an attraction here. The mukha mantapa has tall pillars.
