Gorantla

Madhavaraya temple, Gorantla, Andhra Pradesh, is located 32 km north of Bagepalli and 126 km from Bangalore.

Temple was built in 1354 CE during the reign of Vijayanagara king Narasimha Saluva.

Highly ornate Mahamantapam has Yaali pillars; Sukhanasi also has richly carved pillars, decorated ceilings, and depictions from Ramayana, Bhagavatha and puranas.

Stepwells are not that common in south India. It’s a feature in some of the Vijayanagara temples. The one here is in good shape.
