Jogulamba temple (also known as Yogamba temple) situated in the banks of river Thungabhadra at Alampur is considered the 5th Shakti Peetam amongst the 18 Shakti peetams in the country.
Alampur, Telengana, is located 25 kms north-east of Kurnool.
The ancient temple was destroyed completely during the invasion ~ 1390 CE and rebuilt recently (2005). It is said that for more than 6 centuries, the idol of Goddess had been secured in Bala Brahmeswara temple nearby.
One could visit Navabrahma Siva temples (9 of them, also known as Brahmeshwara group of temples) and Sangameswara temple while visiting Alampur.
