Pathiramanal is an island in Alappuzha, Kerala – located 1.5 km north-east of Muhamma and 4 km west of Kumarakom.
The island is about 28 ha (69 Acres) in area. The name Pathiramanal means sands of night. It’s uninhibited.
It’s home to a variety of birds – native and migratory from different parts of the world. It’s in close proximity to Kumarakom bird sanctuary.
Surrounded by the Vembanad Lake, Pathiramanal is accessible only by boat. One could walk across the island through pathway.
It’s green all around – interesting place!
