Bucheshvara temple at Koravangla is an amazing piece of Hoysala art, located 12 km north-east of Hassan, Karnataka.
Built in 1173 CE by Buchiraja to celebrate the coronation of King Veera Ballala II, the temple is a standing testimony of the architectural, cultural and artistic prowess of those times!
The Dwikuta garbhagriha, sukanasi, navaranga, mukhamandapa, shikara, kalasa, and Hoysala crest are by and large intact.
This extremely ornate temple has extensively carved ceilings, elaborately ornamented walls, decorative features and motifs, alongside the lathe-turned pillars.
Bucheshvara temple is spectacular!
