Devarayanadurga, located 80 km north-west of Bangalore, Karnataka, houses 2 ancient temples that are said to be more than 2,000 years old!
One is Bhoga Narasimha and the other Yoga Narasimha. A serpentine road takes us up the hill to Yoga Narasimha temple.
The current structures of the temples are built in Dravidian style. The temples enjoyed patronage of Cholas (300 BCE to 1279 CE), and later, the Wodeyars of Mysore (1399 CE to 1950 CE).
The hillock is surrounded by forests and offers stunning views of the plains and the hills around.
Drive to Namada chilume springs and beyond, takes us through bush lands and beautiful landscapes.
