Agneeshwarar Shukra temple located in Kanjanur, 17 km north-east of Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu is one of the nine Navagraha temples.
Located in Cauvery delta, the temple was built by Cholas in 9th century CE, and renovated later by Vijayanagara kings in 15th century CE.
The temple has a 5-tier rajagopuram and two prakarams. The temple is referred to in ancient texts relating to Sage Parasara and mukthi thandavam – the cosmic dance.
