Sri Vaikunta Perumal Temple, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu is located 1 km east of Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple.
This breathtaking masterpiece of Pallava architecture was built in 8th century CE by Nandivarman II. In later centuries, the Cholas and Vijayanagara rulers contributed to its preservation and further development.
Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, its history is inscribed into its walls.
The temple is renowned for its lion-pillared cloisters and intricate relief sculptures in sandstone that depict both Vedic stories and social life.
