Subrahmanya Swamy temple in Haripad, Kerala, is located 32 km south of Alappuzha.
Said to have been consecrated by Sree Parasurama eons ago, the tall Subrahmanya idol was recovered from a water body nearby and re-established a few centuries ago.
The current temple structure was built during the reign of Sree Chithira Thirunal Rama Varma around 1930 CE, after a fire destroyed the earlier structure built in 16th century CE.
