Hampi - Sugriva’s Cave

Hampi – Sugriva’s Cave

Sugriva’s cave is located a km away from the east-end of Hampi Bazaar. A walk through the river side, along Kodandarama temple towards Vijaya Vittala temple, takes us to the Sugriva Cave.

Located on the river shore, this looks a naturally formed cave with huge boulders leaning over one another.

Sugriva is said to have lived here for many years and Rama and Lakshmana met him here.

Kishkindha’s (Hampi’s) unique boulder-strewn landscape has its own magnificence. There is a rugged beauty to this topography!
