Divar Island lies in the Mandovi river in Goa, 12 km north-east of Panaji.
The Island is connected to Old Goa on the south-east side and Goa on the south-west, all by ferry.
We can drive-in to the Ferry and cross the river. The ferries leave quite frequently, throughout the day. A drive in the island is scenic with paddy fields, trees and hillocks, typical of the Goan countryside, and takes us through a few villages.
Well maintained, elegant Portuguese villas can be seen dotting the island. One can have the views of churches of Old Goa from here.
Divar Island – worth a visit; worth a drive, to get a taste of the tranquil and picturesque setting of rural Goa!
