Ettumanoor Mahadeva (Shiva) temple, Kerala is located 11 km north-east of Kottayam.
Being an ancient temple, Pandavas and Sage Vyasa are said to have visited here. The current temple with its entrance structure was renovated and reconstructed in 1542 CE.
There’s a Krishna temple too inside the complex. One of the key attractions here is the mural paintings on the walls!
The annual festival celebrated in Feb-March brings out the Ezharaponnana (7 and half elephant) statues for public viewing.
