Bylakuppe, Karnataka – located 11 Km south of Kushalnagar and 60 Km north-west of Mysore – is home to Namdroling Monastery (Padmasambhava Buddhist Vihara).
Bylakuppe houses several Tibetan settlements established in 1960s; and is supposed to be largest in India after Dharmasala (Himachal).
The Monastery is well decorated with Tibetan art and craft. It has a university, library and often one could listen to the hum of Buddhist chants, as monks and students pray in chorus.
