Alangudi

Apatsahayesvarar Temple or Guru Sthalam, Alangudi, is located 18 km south of Kumbakonam, Tamilnadu.

Alangudi temple is ancient, referred to and revered in the 7th century CE Tamil work Tevaram, and classified as Paadal Petra Sthalam.

Built by Cholas in 11th century CE, it was later expanded during the reigns of Thanjavur Nayaks (16th century CE).

It’s one of the Navagraha temples, attributed to Guru (Jupiter).
