Kottachedu Teak Forest is located 11 km north-east of Yercaud, Tamilnadu, on the Yercaud – Kuppanur Road.
The drive to and through the teak forest is enchanting, and memorable. The Vanier River passes through the teak forest (which ends up at the Vanier Dam in the plains).
The teak forest area has flourishing wildlife such as foxes, anteaters, bison, paradise flycatchers and so on.
The Kuppanur Road is an alternative, longer route to reach Salem from Yercaud.
