Villoondi Theertham situated 6 km west of Rameshwaram, Tamilnadu is ancient and special – Even to this date the (water) well has fresh (potable) water, though located in the midst of sea!
History is that Rama quenched the thirst of Sita here by dipping his bow into the sea.
One can access the well through a 120 feet-long walking bridge extending into the sea.
Villoondi theertham is said to be a calm beach always, with little / no tides.
