Puthukode Annapoorneswari temple, located 40 km south-west of Palakkad, Kerala, is one of the ancient temples of Kerala said to have been consecrated by Sage Parashurama. The current temple is more than 400 years old.
One of the oldest Agraharams in Kerala, Puthukode Agraharam has 4 villages – north, east, south and west.
I am from south village, P in my name stands for Puthukode.
Annapoorneswari temple is at the centre where the 4 villages meet. In a way, the 4 villages seem radiating from the temple.
At the far end of north village is the prominent Siva temple.
Navarathri during September / October is the main festival here attracting large number of devotees from all across.
Puthukode is picturesque – a hamlet set in typical Palakkadan rural ambience!
