Panchapalli Dam

Panchapalli Dam

Panchapalli Dam, Tamil Nadu, is located 47 km south of Hosur.

The Dam, also known as Chinnar Dam, is located near Panchapalli in Dharmapuri district. The dam was completed in 1977 across the Chinnar River, built primarily for irrigation and flood-control purposes.

The earthen dam, about 365 metres long and around 29 metres high, collects water from the surrounding hill and forest catchments.

It’s quiet setting among low hills, calm backwaters, rural roads and scenic views, makes it a peaceful offbeat stop for a short drive from Hosur or Bengaluru.
