Sri Ranganthaswamy (Ranganayakulu) temple is located in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, on the banks of Penna river.
The temple was built in 8th century CE by Pallava rulers, and renovated later by Simhapuri rulers in 12th century CE.
The temple has multiple historical references – Sage Kashyapa is said to have performed Yagna here; references in Ramayana indicate that Sri Rama visited the place on his sojourn.
We visited the temple late in the evening, which provided a different feel altogether!
