Nalsarovar, located 64 Km west of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is one of the largest bird sanctuaries in India.
Spread over 120 square-kilometres, the lake and ambient marshes attract loads of migratory birds during winter, apart from sizable native ones.
The lake is home to more than 200 species of birds, 4 to 5 feet deep, with 36 small islands in it.
Boating is available to go around the lake.
