Muddenahalli, Karnataka, is the birthplace of M. Visvesvaraya (15 Sep 1861 – 12 Apr 1962). It’s located 58 km north of Bengaluru.
M. Visvesvarayya, a Bharat Ratna awardee (1955), was one of India’s most accomplished engineers. 15 Sep is being celebrated as Engineer’s Day in India, Sri Lanka and Tanzania in his memory.
The Visvesvarayya memorial at Muddenahalli, with Nandi Hills in the backdrop, consists of the house where he was born, resting place, and various memorabilia associated with him.
