Jokhang, a Buddhist temple in Barkhor Square, Lhasa, Tibet, China, is considered one of the most sacred and important temples in Tibet.
Established in 652 CE by Songtsen Gampo, the temple was expanded and renovated multiple times over the last 1350+ years.
The temple’s architectural style is a mixture of Indian vihara, Tibetan and Nepalese designs.
Temple has numerous Budha statues and elaborate mural paintings.
It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
