Bhakthavatchaleswarar Temple, Tirukazhukundram, Tamilnadu is located 54 km south-east of Kanchipuram.
Located at the foot of the sacred Vedagiri Hill, the Temple origins are traced to the Pallava period, with the earliest structural work dating to the 8th century CE.
Over the centuries, the temple was expanded and enriched by the Cholas, Vijayanagara kings, and Nayaks. The Temple is replete with inscriptions, carvings and highly ornamented pillars.
Spread across nearly 12 acres, the Temple is a fine example of Dravidian architecture, featuring an imposing seven-tiered eastern Rajagopuram, three concentric praakarams, spacious pillared halls, and beautiful sculptures.
The temple is closely associated with the nearby hill-top Vedagiriswarar Temple.
