Kalyana Pasupatheswarar Temple is located in Karur, Tamil Nadu.
This ancient Shiva Temple, one of the foremost Shiva Temples of Kongu Nadu, is 1500+ years old, and finds mention in the inscriptions during Rajendra Chola’s reign, 1012–1044 CE.
Built in typical Chola style, the Temple was expanded during Vijayanagara and Nayak times. The Karuvoorar Siddhar Sannidhi is located in the outer praakara.
The Temple is replete with Tall Mandapams, praakarams, ornamented pillars, exquisite carvings and sculptures.
It’s a Paadal Petra Sthalam.
