The Adi Jagannatha Temple, Thiruppullani, Tamilnadu, is located 10 km south of Ramanathapuram, and 57 km west of Rameswaram.
Built in 8th century CE by Cholas, the Temple got expanded and renovated during Pandya, Vijayanagara, Nayak, and Sethupathi times.
Being one of the 108 Divya Desams, it is said that Sri Rama rested here (on their way to Sri Lanka) on a bed of Dharba grass (‘pul’ in Tamil).
The temple is replete with tall corridors, intricate stone works, carvings and sculptures; and a beautiful Pushkarani (Temple tank).
