Sivanasamudra waterfalls are located 130 km south-west of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Gaganachukki and Barachukki Falls are collectively called Shivanasamudra Falls. Bharachukki falls is to the south-east of the Gaganachukki falls.
The river Kaveri splits itself in to two a few kilometers up-stream forming the island of Sivanasamudra. The western stream flows into the twin falls of Gaganachukki, and the Eastern stream flows into Bharachukki falls.
Asia’s first hydroelectric power station was set up here in 1905.
The falls are 98 meters tall.
