Mangalanatha Swamy Temple, Uthirakosamangai, Tamilnadu, is located 18 km south-west of Ramanathapuram, and 72 km west of Rameswaram.
The Temple is supposed to be ancient and 3000+ year old. It has been referred to in the compositions of Manickavasagar (3rd century CE).
The Temple also houses a 6 feet tall ancient maragatha (Emerald) Nataraja idol that’s one of its kind.
The sheer size and the lay-out of the Temple, the tall corridors, intricate stonework and exquisite carvings make one wonder in awe!
