Thenthiruvalavai Sivan Temple, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, is located 0.40 km south of Meenakshi Amman Temple.
This ancient Shiva Temple is part of the Pancha Bhuta Sthalams of Madurai, representing Agni (fire).
Thirugnana Sambandar is believed to have sung the Tiruneetru Pathigam here in 7th century CE. The current structure follows early Pandya architecture, with later additions by Nayaks.
Lord Yama also is worshipped here.
