Somnath – Golok Dham

Shri Golok Dham Tirth (Dehotsarg Tirth), Somnath, Gujarat, is located on the banks of Hiran river, near Thriveni Sangam, 2 km east of Somnath Temple.

Golok Dham Tirth is believed to be the place where Sri Krishna left his body. After being hit by a hunter’s arrow in Bhalka Tirth, Sri Krishna walked around 5 km towards Triveni Sangam, where he is said to have taken bath before leaving the body.

This place is also called Sri Krishna Neej Dham Prasthan Tirth. The footprint of Sri Krishna is carved here to mark the event.

Baldev Gufa (cave) is within the complex where Sri Balaram, the elder brother of Sri Krishna, is said to have taken his final journey in a serpent form.

One can also visit Gita Mandir and Lakshmi Narayan Mandir situated within the complex.
